Causes and Solutions of Common Faults of Several Valves

Industry News

A valve is a control component in a fluid delivery system, with functions such as cut-off, regulation, flow diversion, reverse flow prevention, pressure stabilization, flow diversion, or overflow pressure relief. Valves used in fluid control systems range from the simplest cut-off valves to various valves used in extremely complex automatic control systems, with a wide variety of varieties and specifications. Valves can be used to control the flow of various types of fluids such as air, water, steam, various corrosive media, mud, oil, liquid metal and radioactive media. Valves are also divided into cast iron valves, cast steel valves, stainless steel valves (201, 304, 316, etc.), chrome-molybdenum steel valves, chrome-molybdenum-vanadium steel valves, duplex steel valves, plastic valves, non-standard custom-made valves, etc. according to the material. Valves are still widely used in our lives, so how should we solve some common faults? Let’s take everyone to understand the causes and solutions of some common faults.
1. Valve body leakage:
reason:
1. The valve body has sand holes or cracks,
2. The valve body is cracked during repair welding,
deal with:
1. Polish the suspected cracks and etch them with 4% nitric acid solution. If there are cracks, they will be displayed.
2. Repair cracks.
2. The valve stem and its matching nut thread are damaged or the valve stem head is broken and the valve stem is bent:
reason:
1. Improper operation, excessive force on the switch, failure of the limit device, and failure of the over-torque protection.
2. Thread fit too loose or too tight.
3. Too many operations and too long service life.
deal with:
1. Improve the operation, do not use too much force; check the limit device, check the over-torque protection device.
2. Select the appropriate material, and the assembly tolerance meets the requirements.
3. Replace spare parts.
3. Leakage on the joint surface of the bonnet:
Reasons: 1. Insufficient tightening of bolts or tight deviation.
2. The gasket does not meet the requirements or the gasket is damaged.
3. The bonding surface is defective.
deal with:
1. Retighten the bolts or make the flange clearance of the door cover consistent.
2. Replace gasket.
3. Disassemble and repair the sealing surface of the door cover.
